![]() Even video, which has previously been a weak point in Fuji systems, has been drastically improved in the X-Pro2. Also notable is a new film simulation mode based on Fujifilm's Neopan ACROS black-and-white film. The autofocus is faster, the controls have been moved to better locations, and the menus have been rearranged and are now easy to customize. ![]() There's better image quality, thanks to the new 24-megapixel X-Trans CMOS III sensor. Instead, it takes everything that makes FujiFilm's X-mount cameras appealing and improves all of it. The X-Pro2 doesn't break any fresh ground. This is a camera that demands to be used. In my case, I can say that not since I sold my Nikon F3 have I picked up a camera and headed out the door for the sole purpose of taking photos. The understated design-from the front, there's no logo or even camera name-and rangefinder-style configuration combine to create something that feels pulled out of an entirely different era of photography. If Fuji's vision aligns with your own, the X-Pro2 can feel, if you'll pardon the over-used hyperbole, magical. In five short years, FujiFilm has been able to produce one of the most fully realized visions of what a camera should be. Both of those cameras are excellent and earned top marks, but FujiFilm's achievement is even more notable when you look at the company's newest release, the X-Pro2 ($1,699). ![]() Accessed 2 April 2018.It's been barely five years since FujiFilm plunged into the consumer camera market with the fixed-lens X100, and a mere four years since the company's flagship X-Pro1 hit the market. ^ Michael Zhang, " Fujifilm Firmware Updates Coming for X Series: X-Pro2 to Get 4K Video".^ " Updated:New firmware updates for FUJIFILM X-Pro2, X-T2 X100F, X-T20 coming soon.".^ " Firmware update history(up to version 4.00)"."Fujifilm X-Pro2: Fuji's Top Mirrorless Shooter Returns With Fury". In contrast to Bayer CMOS sensor, this type features a different structure, which thus enables a different sampling method and eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPF). The camera is equipped with a Fujifilm X-Trans Sensor-III, which has an APS-C 23.6 × 15.6 mm format, a resolution of 24.3 megapixels and a pixel pitch of 3.9 µm. With the built-in Wi-Fi function, the X-Pro2 can be controlled remotely via a smartphone or tablet. In addition, the user is provided with functions for automatic exposure, white balance, dynamic range and film simulation series. Like its predecessor, the X-Pro1, it features various Fujifilm-typical film simulations. The X-Pro2 does not have automatic modes, HDR or panorama functions. A selection lever can be used to switch to the electronic viewfinder with 2.36 million pixels and 100% viewfinder coverage. This is a combination of optical (OVF) and electronic viewfinder (EVF) and allows the photographer to superimpose information into the optical viewfinder field. In addition to a fixed rear LC display, the camera has a hybrid optical viewfinder. The mechanical shutter allows exposure times of 30 to 1/8000 seconds, using the electronic shutter will allow shutter speeds up to 1/32,000 second. The camera allows to capture 30 raw or about 140 JPEG shots at up to eight frames per second, assuming a SDXC-UHS-II memory card. For manual focusing, a focus magnifier, a digital split image indicator as well as focus peaking are available to the user. The autofocus system works as a hybrid using contrast and phase detection, this allows focusing and release within 0.15 to 0.25 seconds from infinity to two meters. The camera body has a X mount for connecting Fujinon XF and XC lenses. The Fujifilm X-Pro2 mirrorless camera is aimed at professional and ambitious amateur photographers.
